Whether these patterns were based on actual locations and historical events, or were stylized interpretations from the romantic or aesthetic periods, landscapes and waterscapes appeared on printed wares from the earliest overglaze printed items produced in the eighteenth century through the end of the nineteenth century. This exhibit includes examples printed on different body types and in different styles and colors from each period.
