An earthenware plate printed in blue with the named viewl Taymouth Castle, Perthshire. The present castle has replaced the former 16th century Balloch Castle. The central building with its cloistered colonnade and corner towers was built in 1806 by James and Archibald Elliot for Lord Breadalbane who subsequently entertained Queen Victoria there.BACK TO CATALOG INDEX
