Source Description:

View on the Chitpore Road, Calcutta is the source for the buildings.  It is part 2, 2 from  Oriental Scenery by Thomas and William Daniell, 1797.  Size of the print is approximately 23.5 inches x 17 inches.

Description:

Earthenware soup plate in a pattern used on many different shapes.  The pattern is known as Eastern Street Scene and is derived from the two source prints illustrated below.  The source for the three figures in the foreground is unknown.
