Description:

A dessert dish printed in blue with gilded decoration added.  This example does not include the inner border found on many Minton pieces in this pattern.  Copied from a Chinese original pattern dated c.1790 (see below). Geoffrey Priestman in An Illustrated Guide to Minton Printed Pottery 1796-1836 documents the factory name as Hermit, based on invoices retained in the Minton archives.  This example is recorded...
