The Bell Border is so named due to the bell shaped elements that appear to be suspended from the rest of the geometric border.

Description:

An early baluster shaped molded pearlware coffee pot with domed lid printed in blue with a line engraved Chinaman with Rocket pattern.  This pattern was made by several unknown potters and is most often found on hollow ware.  A marked example by Stevenson is known.  The border on this example, known as the Bell Border, is the most commonly found border with this pattern.
