Description:

A large jug printed within a gold oval with a portrait of the Duke of Wellington enhanced with gilding, the rest of the body painted with gold leafy stems and sprigs. It is inscribed on the base in blue 'Duke of Wellington'. The title was conferred on him in 1814 and this jug was probably made to commemorate the occasion.
