An earthenware platter, size unknown, printed in blue and brown and painted. This line engraved pattern consists of an outer border printed in blue with a linear pattern consisting of continual vertical lines. The inner border design of a string of flowers is printed in brown and the centers of the flowers have been painted. A small portion of this floral design has been printed in the center of the platter. This platter, and one other Wedgwood & Co. example included in the exhibition, represents one of the earliest examples of underglaze two-color printing.
