Earthenware wine cooler printed in blue with the Willow I pattern.  The cooler consists of an outer and inner vessel designed to cool wine in a bottle.  Ice would be placed in the outer area to keep the wine chilled.  The inner vessel held the bottle.  By not coming in direct contact with the ice, the bottle would remain dry and could be easily returned to the cooler after serving from it.  The decorative molded, fluted handles are hand painted to outline the pattern (see below).  An indistinct workman's mark is painted on the underside.
