The Ladies Amusement.  This type of polychrome printing was peculiar to Vauxhall and may have derived from the enamel works of nearby Battersea.  It involved the overglaze printing of two or more colors in outline, most often brown, pink or sepia. The printed outlines were then filled in with hand-painted coloring.  For more information see the English Ceramic Circle publication, Ceramics of Vauxhall, 2007.
