All of the tiles have a registration number printed on the back and have a textured grid surface. These tiles are attributed to T. A. Simpson & Co. Ltd. of Cliff Bank Works and Furlng Tiles Works, Burslem (c.1885-1969). Tiles are usually marked with the firm's name or intitials 'T.A.S.Ltd.'
