Probably designed by Owen Gibbons.Gibbons trained at the South Kensington Schools of Art, London, and was involved with the decoration of the South Kensington Museum (V&A) buildings in the late 1860s. He was then curator of the Royal Architectural Museum, Westminster, London before becoming head of the Coalbrookdale School of Art in Shropshire. He designed a number of tiles for Maw & Co. and was involved with the company of Gibbons Hinton & Co. established by his brother Francis Gibbons and his brother-in-law W.J.Hinton in 1885.
