Description:

This earthenware soup plate, part of a complete dinner service, is printed in blue in the Surseya Ghaut, Khanpore pattern.  The border has two pairs of Indian scenes, each in a cartouche of scrolls, grapes and vine leaves.  The source print, also illustrated, was used by at least four other makers.
