Source Description:

The Dalmation or Coach Dog was copied from The General History of Quadrupeds by Thomas Bewick, 1790.  Bewick was also the artist and wood block engraver.

Description:

An earthenware plate printed in blue with The Dalmatian or Coach Dog pattern.  It is also known as the Spotted Dog.  The animals in the cartouches are clockwise from the top: The Ichneumon, The Weasel, and The Pine-Weasel or Yellow Breasted Martin from The General History of Quadrupeds by Thomas Bewick, 1790.
