Description:

This small Lowestoft tea pot is somewhere between a bachelor pot and a miniature in size.  It is printed with a distinctive pattern known as The Good Cross Chapel that is only found on Lowestoft porcelain.  Although this name is of some long-standing, it is purely a collectors' term and has no connection with the pre-Reformation Chapel of the Good Cross in Lowestoft that became a domestic building. John Bussey has produced an ingenious theory to explain the different elements in the design: see NCS Newsletter No 146.
