Description:

A porcelain plate bat printed in black over glaze with additional painting in colored enamels.  Gilding from around the rim is unfortunately worn away.  Marked with pattern number D.6809 which indicates an introduction date in the D series pattern book of c.1869.  The scene depicts welcoming the New Year and the departure of the Old Year. Printed on the banner above the figures are
