A dessert plate bat printed in red with gild banding around the edge with a view of Kirkcudbright, Scotland, based on a print by Alexander Reid (see below). Spode began to produce smaller bat printed landscapes which enabled depiction of greater detail as seen in these bone china plates.  The pattern is reference number P270 in Spode Transfer-Printed Ware 1784-1833 by D. Drakard and
